WHEATFIELD – A company that sells housewares on Amazon and other websites was approved for a $50,000-a-year lease on space in the headquarters building of the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency.
The IDA board approved the deal with Urban Inspirations for a two-year lease with a two-year renewal option, IDA attorney Mark J. Gabriele said.
The company was incorporated in Nevada two years ago, although the owner, Owais Ashfaq, is an Ontario resident, . The firm has both U.S. and Canadian shipping locations, according to information on the Amazon site.
Susan C. Langdon, director of project development for the IDA, said the company has outgrown current leased space in Niagara Falls and needs a larger location. The company started in a garage unit at 2101 Military Road and later moved into the city, Langdon said.
The lease covers 10,000 square feet in two units of Vantage Center, as the IDA’s headquarters building is known. It’s an IDA-owned multi-tenant structure at 6311 Inducon Corporate Drive, off Lockport Road.
