Hires/Promotions/Honors

The Western New York Trial Lawyers Association elected Soo-young Chang a director. Chang is special counsel in Goldberg Segall’s Buffalo office. Chang is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School and the University of Michigan.



Freed Maxick CPAs appointed Erik M. Seeger, CPA, a senior accountant in its tax practice. Also, the firm named Thomas V. Grieco an analyst in its health care practice and Alan N. Zawisky an analyst in its cost segregation practice.



Combined Insurance promoted Tony O’Dierno to senior vice president, zone manager, for the company’s South/Southeast region. O’Dierno, formerly of Orchard Park, served as vice president, divisional manager, until moving into his new role.

Applied Sciences Group, a Cheektowaga-based software engineering and manufacturing automation firm, received a Level 2 Quality Certification from the Control Systems Integrators Association.



Avalon Document Services will expand its resources in Ohio with a partnership with Cleveland-based ProFile Discovery. Avalon Document Services will add market presence in Ohio and increase its workforce from 75 employees to 100. All current team members will retain their positions, and Avalon plans to add additional administrative staff to support the growing company.



Tonawanda Dance Arts was accepted into the More Than Just Great Dancing international affiliation program, aligning the studio with a high standard of dance instruction and management principles. More Than Just Great Dancing was founded in 1997 by Misty Lown, owner of Misty’s Dance Unlimited.

Contributing

Colvin Cleaners will begin its ninth annual Gowns 4 Proms drive, which provides dresses to young women for their proms. The drive is currently accepting any dress that would be suitable for prom wear and accessories, such as purses, shoes, scarves and wraps. More than 1,000 dresses were selected last year, servicing more than 40 high schools in Western New York. Dresses can be dropped off through April 10 at any of these locations: Goodwill Industries of Western New York; Boulevard Mall, guest services center; Colvin Cleaners, 2375 Elmwood Ave.; Shea’s Performing Arts Center; TT New York, Boulevard Mall and Walden Galleria; Continental School of Beauty locations, 326 Kenmore Ave. and 1050 Union Road, West Seneca. Goodwill will offer $5 off any in-store purchase of $15 or more for a donated dress.
