Calspan Corp. and the union representing 24 striking workers at the company are set to resume talks May 22.

The members of Lodge 1180, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, remain on the picket line outside Calspan’s facilities in Cheektowaga and the Town of Niagara. They began their strike Tuesday after being unable to reach agreement with Calspan on a new contract.

“The union has said it’s ready and willing to resume bargaining right from the beginning,” said Peter Cooney, a business agent with the Machinists and Aerospace union.

Calspan has a range of aeronautics and testing operations spread across its local facilities. The striking workers include mechanics, machinists, aircraft inspectors and wind tunnel workers.
