Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals award night scheduled

The Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals will celebrate their second anniversary June 14 with a 1920s theme soiree at The Foundry, 1738 Elmwood Ave.

The program, “Queen City Lights,” will honor the following people for their career achievements and civic contributions:

Elizabeth Callahan, workforce development manager for the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, will receive the Brenda W. McDuffie Award of Excellence; Paul Perez, an active member of the health & wellness committee with the Urban League Young Professionals and a community organizer with Citizen Action New York, is the recipient of the Whitney M. Young Award for outstanding young professional chapter member; AnaAngelica Lanzo, a credit support representative at Ingram Micro, will get the Community Engagement Award.

Jessica Isaac, a pharmacist at Rite Aid, is the recipient of the BULYP Trailblazer Award; Adrianna “The Go Getta” Viverette, a youth advocate and media personality for WBLK Radio, will receive the Community Engagement Award; Salley Nycole Crews, owner of SalleyNycole Esthetics and Makeup Artistry, is the recipient of the BULYP Entrepreneurship Award; and Anthony Maggiotto, a certified business advisor at the New York State Small Business Development Center, will get the BULYP Entrepreneurship Award.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with a reception and music by Pure Pleasure. Brittany Smallwood of WIVB-TV Channel 4 will be the mistress of ceremonies. Dancing will follow dinner and presentation of awards. Tickets are $60. For information, e-mail Tanika Coleman at events@bulypny.org.
