Hires/Promotions/Honors

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will welcome the following physicians to its staff during the next several months: Dr. Simmanjeet Mangat, Dr. Kamran Ahmad, Dr. Niels Ulrich Gothgen and Dr. John Patrick Blundell. Mangat has completed residencies in both internal medicine and medical biochemistry and genetics. She is a graduate of Government Medical College in Patiala, India. Ahmad will mentor new physicians and maintain a family medicine practice. A graduate of the University of St. Eustatius School of Medicine (Netherlands), he completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, where he was chief resident. Gothgen, a graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Medicine, served residencies in surgery and anesthesia before completing a clinical fellowship in critical care anesthesia at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Blundell, an internist who served his residency in internal medicine at the University at Buffalo, is a graduate of Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, Poland.

The Erie County Industrial Development Agency named Robbie Ann McPherson manager of communications and marketing. McPherson had served as director of communications for the City of Buffalo Comptroller’s Office. She graduated from SUNY Buffalo State.

Company Connections

Continental Transmission celebrated the company’s 40th anniversary with the launch of its new website, designed and developed with local technology partner PCA Technology Group. The company, with multiple transmission repair shop locations in the Buffalo area, has been locally owned and operated since 1974.

Moog Inc., of East Aurora, was awarded a federal contract valued at up to $2,759,650 for physical properties testing and inspection services from the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala.

Northrop Grumman Amherst Systems, of Buffalo, was awarded $1,564,341 federal contract for joint `threat emitter provisioning data and spares from the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command, Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

Contributing

The First Niagara Foundation and Habitat for Humanity will work together to build a new home at 118 Fox St. in Buffalo. Bank employees this month will begin working on the home, which is expected to be complete late this year. The foundation is providing $15,000 to Habitat for Humanity to support the project.
